People before Profits… Prophets before Profits… It is a difficult, but an important task for me to free myself of the Modern Zionist education that I received from my childhood up. I still flinch sometimes when I talk and work with other people that are searching for a truly just and creative peace in Israel/Palestine. This peace is needed worldwide, but being actively and happily Jewish and having lived in Israel keeps me focused-in on, and hyper-sensitive to the developments there. Every time I visit Palestine and Israel I seek out progressive people working for real solutions. I also see how the Jews of Israel (and elsewhere) are losing their connection to history, culture, tradition and Menschlichkeit, and are replacing them with typical modern European nationalism. Not only would the change in thinking from the Broder to the Langer make it possible to achieve a just peace, for Jews it would be a move back to the traditions of justice, positive culture, respect for HaShem's (God's) creation and a return to our roots (without causing damage to other peoples' roots!)!
